The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra’s (CJRO) Sextet will perform “A Night in New Orleans,” with vocalist Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield on Sunday, February 16 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Cultural Center, and on Friday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Parsons Theatre in Northglenn. Let the good times roll as the band brings the vibrant spirit of New Orleans jazz to life in an electrifying concert of music and celebration! From the soulful sounds of the blues to swinging beat of rhythm and horns, get ready for a powerful experience that will transport you straight to the heart of the Big Easy. LadyMay is one of the top rising star vocalists in the country, with a voice and persona that have been described by many as refreshing and powerful. She often performs with the CJRO and is featured on its fourth album Golden Lady to be released in July 2025. A jazz/soul vocalist, musician, composer, and educator from Fort Worth, Texas, LadyMay has performed in various venues and festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad, which have earned her rave reviews from listeners and musicians in addition to numerous awards. Tatiana is the Assistant Professor of Contemporary Popular Music at Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. The CJRO Sextet includes Shane Endsley (trumpet/horns); Jared Cathey, bandleader (saxophone/reeds); Adam Bartczak (trombone); Tom Amend (piano); Eric Hitt (bass) and Dru Heller (drums).
