2nd Annual “Applause for PAWS” Cabaret
A benefit for the Denver Actors Fund - PAWS Fund - February 10th
Launched in 2023, The Denver Actors Fund PAWS Fund is a separate source that makes limited financial relief from pet-related medical bills available to qualified members of the Colorado theater community. The PAWS Fund has helped pay down more than $61,000 in pet medical expenses since its inception. Last year’s Applause for PAWS event raised over $5,000. This year our goal is $10,000 and all ticket proceeds and donations go directly to the PAWS Fund and the pets.
Performers and musicians donate their time and talent for the cause. It’s an evening of entertainment, food, drinks, and fun put on by theatre people from across the metro area and front range. This year’s line-up includes: Kenny Moten, Traci Kern Piper, Abby Apple Boes, the Jersey Boys quartet from Town Hall Arts Center, Jeremy Rill, Matthew Dailey, Joannie Rubald, Anna Marie High, Adrienne & Marco Robinson, and many more.
“My dog, Bruno was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia in his front legs when he was only 6 months old. Surgery was required to help correct the growing abnormality of his leg bones with a cost of over $10,000. The PAWS Fund was able to help us with a $3,000 grant toward those expenses.” Mary Dailey, Music Director
Established in 2013, The Denver Actors Fund is a source of immediate assistance when members of the Colorado theater community find themselves in situational medical need. The PAWS fund was launched in 2023 to assist this same community with the sometimes-devastating cost of caring for their beloved pets.
