Monday, April 23, at 8pm the National Touring Company of WICKED will host "THE WICKED ROCKY HORROR SHOW", a staged concert performance of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show – Book, music & lyrics by Richard O'Brien.  Held at Denver's historic Ogden Theatre, the event will feature the company of WICKED.  The net proceeds of this event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Project Angel Heart.

"THE WICKED ROCKY HORROR SHOW" is part of an ongoing series of performances by the touring company throughout the country to support charitable causes which advance WICKED's theme of acceptance and illuminate the musical's message that people should not be judged on first impressions.  The company believes that in these divisive times we must come together to support those in need throughout the country and around the world.  In its 7 years on the road, the company has raised over $2,000,000 in donations for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and local AIDS Services organizations all over the country.

Produced by company members, the evening is an opportunity for them to step out of their roles in the musical and kick up their (spiked) heels as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Riff Raff, Magenta, Rocky, Janet and Brad.  The concert will feature company members including: Mamie Parris (Elphaba); Alli Mauzey (Glinda);  Mark Jacoby (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz); Andy Kelso (Fiyero); Liz McCartney (Madame Morrible); Justin Brill, (Boq) and Emily Ferranti (Nessarose); as well as members of the ensemble and the touring staff.  The event will be directed by company member Timothy A. Fitz-Gerald with choreography by Napoleon W. Gladney & Shanna VanDerwerker.  Musical direction and arrangements provided by P. Jason Yarcho.

Admission to "THE WICKED ROCKY HORROR SHOW" is by donation.  General admission standing room tickets are $40.  VIP tickets, which include priority location and a 7:00pm pre-show reception with members of the cast, are available for $100. Tickets are available online at: www.ogdentheatre.net; in person at the Ogden Theatre Box Office and at the Bluebird Theatre Box Office (3317 East Colfax Avenue) or by calling 1 (888) 9-AXS-TIX (1-888-929-7849).  All proceeds benefit BC/EFA and Project Angel Heart, and donations are tax-deductible.  The Ogden Theatre's bar staff will be serving throughout the evening.  The evening is intended for mature audiences, and parental discretion is advised.  Admission is limited to ages 16 and older (21+ to purchase alcoholic beverages).

In addition to the performance, there will be a live auction of several opportunities to join the company backstage at the Buell Theatre, including a chance to bid on a walk-on role in WICKED.  WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster returns for a fourth engagement at the Buell Theatre April 11-May 20.

Project Angel Heart: Since 1991, delivering nutritious meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illnesses.  Project Angel Heart addressed the critical need for nutrition by providing home-delivered meals specifically designed to meet the heightened nutritional requirements of people battling life-threatening illnesses.  We rely on crews of volunteers, working six days per week under the supervision of a professional chef, to prepare, cook and package our meals in our own kitchen, Randy's Kitchen.  We prepare our own meals using only the freshest ingredients and we modify up to 70% of our meals each day to meet individual client's dietary restrictions.

The Ogden Theatre was built in 1919 and originally housed live performances such as weekly organ recitals, dances, lectures and vaudeville acts – most notably, the legendary Harry Houdini.  By 1937 it had been converted to a movie theatre that featured everything from the classics to the avant-garde.  In the 80's it also featured the cult movie classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  The Ogden Theatre was re-opened in 1993 featuring a wide variety of live performances.  The theatre found its niche and has become Denver's premier concert venue featuring approximately 150 concerts per year.  The Ogden Theatre is an official Denver landmark and a national historic landmark.

WICKED is part of the Denver Center Attractions 2012 season, which is supported by United Airlines and Vectra Bank.
