William Shakespeare is one of the most notable playwrights of all time. He is known not only for his incredible powers of storytelling but also for his one-of-a-kind command over the English language. He is credited with the invention of almost 2000 words and phrases commonly used today. Shakespeare's plays are remarkably diverse in their subject matter; ranging from historical tragedies such as Antony and Cleopatra to lighthearted, fantastical comedies like A Midsummer Night's Dream. Regardless of genre, it is the impeccable blend of verse and prose that have captured audiences for over 500 years. Sunday's Open Rehearsal represents the culmination of a month-long Acting Intensive exploring these complex works. The evening will include scenes from Shakespeare's most famous and celebrated works.
