Visionbox, a professional actors' studio and intermedia Production Company in Denver, will present A True Thing: Scenes from the plays of Tennessee Williams, tonight, March 17th, 2013 at 6:00pm. This free Visionbox event will feature Visionbox Ensemble Members and Visionbox Actors. Join Visionbox at their location in the heart of the Santa Fe Arts District, the 910 ARTS Gallery.

Tennessee Williams is widely regarded as one of the greatest American Playwrights. He wrote of deeply complex characters in the American South. He won two Pulitzer Prizes for A Streetcar Named Desire, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. His other works include The Glass Menagerie, Summer and Smoke, The Rose Tattoo, Camino Real, Sweet Bird of Youth, The Night of the Iguana, and Orpheus Descending.

Visionbox is a professional actors' studio in Denver, whose mission is to develop the work of visionary artists through professional training and public performance. By raising the overall level of technique and excellence in Denver actor artists, Visionbox is contributing to a growing world-class arts culture in Colorado. Visionbox is also developing new intermedia low-friction performance work. Intermedia refers to the use of film and video as an integral part of the performances; low-friction refers to a style of performance that focuses on the essential relationship between the actor, text, and audience. Visionbox projects are engaging Denver audiences in a dialogue about the "essential moral and social preoccupations of our time" - Harold Clurman.

Jennifer McCray Rincón, founder and Executive Artistic Director of Visionbox, is a graduate of Yale University and the Yale School of Drama, and was the Head of Acting at The National Theatre Conservatory at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts from 1991-2008.

Visionbox is a project of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center, and is currently in residence in Studio 11, 910Arts, at 910 Santa Fe in the heart of the Santa Fe Arts District. The next series of classes will begin March 19th, with Chekhov Scene Study.

Visionbox presents A True Thing: Scenes from the plays of Tennessee Williams on Sunday, March 17th at 6:00pm, doors open at 5:30, talk back after.
