This Tony-award winning musical is a tribute to the black musicians of the 1920s and '30s who were part of the Harlem Renaissance, an era of growing creativity, cultural awareness and ethnic pride. Five performers present an evening of rowdy, raunchy, and humorous songs that encapsulate the various moods of the era. The show takes its title from the 1929 Fats Waller song "Ain't Misbehavin'."
The cast includes Dwayne Carrington (Ken), Leonard E. Barrett (Andre), Hannah Wheeler (Charlaine), ShaShauna Nickleson (Armelia), Cicely O'Kain (Nell), Stephanie Hancock (Female Swing) and Demetrius "De" Thomas (Male Swing).
Songs include 'T Ain't Nobody's Bizness, Honeysuckle Rose, Lookin' Good but Feelin' Bad, Your Feet's Too Big, I Can't Give You Anything but Love, The Joint is Jumpin' and, of course, the title song Ain't Misbehavin'.
