Vintage Theatre Productions Announces 2019 Season

Vintage Theatre Productions announces 11 shows for the 2019 season. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at Vintage Theatre, 1468 Dayton St. in Aurora. January 11 - February 17, 2019
BETRAYAL
a drama by Harold Pinter
Directed by Craig A. Bond

A sharp look into the nature of romantic relationships, Harold Pinter's Betrayal starts in 1977 when long time lovers Jerry and Emma meet after her marriage to her husband Robert dissolves, and then backtracks all the way to 1968 when their affair first began. As the years spin backwards, a complex web of secrets about the trio emerges and calls into question the nature of their intimacy -- as friends, as partners, as spouses.

THE BOYS IN THE BAND

This comic drama centers on a group of gay men gathering in a NYC apartment for a birthday party. After the drinks are poured and the music is turned up, the evening slowly exposes the fault lines beneath their friendships and the self-inflicted heartache that threatens their solidarity. This revolutionary play changed theatrical history by unapologetically putting gay men's lives onstage which had never been seen before in a realistic way.

THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE
a Regional Premiere comedy-drama by Julia Cho
Directed by Margaret Norwood

George is a man consumed with preserving and documenting the dying languages of far-flung cultures. Closer to home, though, language is failing him. He doesn't know what to say to his wife, Mary, to keep her from leaving him, and he doesn't recognize the deep feelings that his lab assistant, Emma, has for him.
