The next production in Town Hall Arts Center's 2014-2015 Season will be Next to Normal, music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. Winner of the Outer Critics' Circle Award for Outstanding Score and nominated for Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Actress (Alice Ripley) and Outstanding Score. It was nominated for eleven 2009 Tony Awards and won three: Best Original Score, Best Orchestration and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Alice Ripley. It also won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama becoming the eighth musical in history to receive the honor. Next to Normal is directed by Nick Sugar, Henry Award winning director of Town Hall's 2012 production of The Who's Tommy and 2010 Henry Award winning production of RENT, and most recently seen directing and choreographing Anything Goes for Town Hall in 2014. Musical direction is by Donna Kolpan Debreceni, Henry Award Winner, The Who's Tommy.

Next to Normal is a contemporary musical that explores how one suburban household copes with love and crisis. With electrifying LIVE music and lyrics, Next to Normal shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family's world intact. Ben Brantley from the New York Times called it "A brave, breathtaking new musical. It is something much more than a feel-good musical; it is a feel-everything musical."

Featured in this production is Margie Lamb as Diana. Margie is reprising her role after performing it at Ignite Theatre and Daniel Langhoff returns to Town Hall in the role of Dan. Daniel most recently was seen as Daddy Warbucks in the 2013 production of Annie. Jacquie Jo Billings also returns to Town Hall in the role of Natalie; last seen here as Thea in Spring Awakening. Making their Town Hall debuts at and rounding out the cast are Josh Bess as Gabriel, Ethan Knowles as Henry and Jared Ming as Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine.

Town Hall favorite, Donna K. Debreceni (2012 Henry Award winner for Outstanding Musical Direction for The Who's Tommy) returns as musical director and will lead a live band on keyboards. Keeping her company are Austin Hein (Bass), Kevin E. Johnson (Cello), David Paul (Violin), Scott Alan Smith (Guitars) and Tag Worley (Drums/Percussion).

Town Hall's production of Next to Normal opens Friday, February 13, 2015 and runs through Sunday, March 15, 2015. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. (& 2:00 p.m. on 2/28) & Sundays at 2 p.m. (& 6:30 p.m. on 3/8).
