Theatre Aspen announced casting for the upcoming TAS Conservatory production of "13," a grown-up story about growing up, which premiered on Broadway last season. The show features music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, with a book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, and will be presented January 15th and 16th at 7 p.m., at the District Theatre in Aspen.
Featuring a pop rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, "13" is about Evan Goldman (played by Luke Seamans, who starred in Sweeney Todd last season), whose parents' divorce forces him to move from New York to a small town in Indiana. His Bar Mitzvah looming, he just wants to make friends and survive the school year in this hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages. Director is David Ledingham, Musical Director is David Dyer.
Lindsay Nelson, Jo Jo in the 2008 main stage production of Seussical, will play Patrice, Evan's new next door neighbor. TAS Conservatory performers will include Parker Johnson, Flynn Holman, Zoe Levine, TRoy Fantini, Shannon Turbidy, Luke Wampler, Will Kelly, Maggie Ryan, Jayne Muir, Lincoln Keffe, Tara Speers, Anna Turi, Piper Hamill, Kiki Glah, Alex Menter, Rachel Ware, Sophie Ledingham, Maddie Joy and Marissa McKinney."We started rehearsals this week and the kids were real pros - knew their music and lines on Day One. It's exciting to see such professional behavior from our young artists," said Paige Price, Theatre Aspen's Artistic Director. Director David Ledingham said, "I'm so thrilled to be directing this brand new teen musical "hot off Broadway" with an extremely talented cast of kids. It's about discovering that friendship means more than popularity. What could be more important than that?"Videos
