Theatre Aspen is thrilled to announce that tickets are on sale for the upcoming TAS Conservatory production of "13," a grown-up story about growing up which premiered on Broadway last season. The show features music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, with a book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, and will be presented January 15th and 16th at 7 p.m., at the District Theatre.
Featuring a pop rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, "13" is about Evan Goldman, whose parents' divorce forces him to move from New York to a small town in Indiana. His Bar Mitzvah looming, he just wants to make friends and survive the school year in this hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages.
"It's really exciting to be one of the first theatres to produce the show since it's Broadway run - there was a mad rush for the rights. I can't wait to see our kids in a musical about the issues that are affecting their lives right now," said Paige Price, Theatre Aspen's Artistic Director.Open auditions for the show are being held at the Rio Grande Meeting Room, 445 Rio Grande Place, on Saturday October 24th, from noon - 5 p.m. Additional information is available at 970-925-9313.
