On a cold, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the snowy hamlet of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky, the inhabitants of Almost fall in and out of love at a rapid rate - and make some startling discoveries along the way.

With 19 different characters appearing in nine vignettes, "Almost, Maine" is often performed with four actors. "My vision was to create a more diverse experience for the audience, yet still give actors the challenge of playing multiple roles and keeping a certain sense of continuity," says director and TCL veteran, Vonalda Utterback. "There is a sweet spot between 4 and 19 actors and I feel we've found it in our talented cast of 10."

"It's always a risk to love," she adds. "This play is about the delicious, terrifying, intoxicating risk of falling in love and the cost of taking, or not taking that risk. Add in a generous sprinkling of magical realism and you have love, Almost, Maine style."

Almost flirting. Almost dating. Almost in love. Almost, Maine.

Almost, Maine will run March 1 - 23, Fri/Sat at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10-16.
