The Wit Theatre Company presents Richard O'Brien's "The Rocky Horror Show," directed by J Murray d'Armand, playing this weekend, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at The Crossroads Theater in Denver. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B-movies of the late 1940s through early 1970s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky Horror. The stage production inspired the 1975 cult film.
The cast features Freddie Walton as Dr. Frank N. Furter, Jaryd Smart as Riff Raff, Christopher Galinski as Brad Majors, Shena Mathew as Janet Weiss, Robin Banduin as Columbia, Kerri Emsweller as Magenta, Erica Trisler as Eddie, Pam Crawford as Dr. Everett Scott, Tyler Nielson as Rocky Horror and d'Armand as the narrator. Mia Derti and Lanie Novak are phantoms.
This marks The Wit's third annual production of Rocky Horror. Costumes are encouraged.
The Crossroads Theater is located in Denver's Five Points neighborhood at 2590 Washington St. Tickets can be purchased online at thewittheatrecompany.ticketleap.com/rocky-iii/.
