The Evergreen Chorale presents "My Fair Lady" September 16 through October 9 at Center Stage, 27608 Fireweed Drive, Evergreen, CO, 80439. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $26 Adults; $22 seniors (62+)/Students, $16 children (12&under), $20 groups of 10 or more and available by phone 303-674-4002 or online at www.evergreenchorale.org.

"My Fair Lady" debuted on Broadway in 1956, winning the NY Drama Critics Award for Best Musical and has been delighting audiences ever since with multiple revivals on Broadway, in London, and of course as a community theater favorite. Based on George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion, it tells the story of a Cockney flower-seller, Eliza Doolittle, and the linguist Henry Higgins who makes a bet that he can turn her into a proper lady with speech and etiquette lessons. We follow her journey while enjoying songs such as "Wouldn't It Be Loverly," "I Could Have Danced All Night," and "On the Street Where You Live."

The charming Colleen Lee, who played Velma in the Chorale's 2015 production of "Chicago," returns to the stage as Eliza Doolittle, playing opposite Brian Sides as Henry Higgins, Timothy Seymour as Freddy, and Vern Moody as Colonel Pickering. The cast includes talented actors from Denver and the foothills as well as the mountain community. We once again welcome the talented Timothy Kennedy (director) and Rachael McWilliams Lessard (choreographer) to work with Chorale artistic director Christine Gaudreau for the third consecutive season. The production is costumed by Davis Sibley, with set design by Biz Shaugaard and lighting design by Chelsea Asmus.

The Evergreen Chorale is pleased to announce that we have chosen to benefit the Emily Griffith Foundation with this production. A portion of ticket sales from "My Fair Lady" will be donated to support scholarship opportunities at the Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC). Founded in 1916 to provide adult education "for all who wish to learn", EGTC serves a diverse body of 8,000 students in the Denver area through its 500 course offerings, nationally accredited certifications and apprenticeships in 13 trades.

"My Fair Lady" opens the Evergreen Chorale's 2016-17 season. Following the 4 weekends of the beloved Broadway musical, we welcome Phamaly Theatre Company to Evergreen on Sunday, November 20, for one performance of Roald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach." In December we will perform holiday classics as well as Gian Carlo Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors," with full choir and the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra at Central Presbyterian Church in Denver and Rockland Community Church in Golden. Next February 24 through March 12 we present the regional premiere of "Billy Elliot The Musical" at Center Stage, and end the season with a choral concert "Sun, Moon, Earth and Sea" featuring works of contemporary composers, again in Denver and Golden. In addition to these performances, the Chorale will present two special events: "Shining Stars", a gala concert by the Boulder percussion group Kutandara at Center Stage in November, and our third annual "Swing Into Spring" swing dance party with William and the Romantics at the Evergreen Lake House on May 5, 2017.
