Goodness Gracious! Productions presents "Harvey" by Mary Chase, directed by Scott Bellot, March 1 through 17.
Elwood P. Dowd is an average mild-mannered man with one slight eccentricity: he keeps introducing people to his best friend, an invisible six-and-a-half foot tall white rabbit named Harvey! In order to save the family from further embarrassment Elwood's sister Veta Louise decides to have Elwood committed to the local sanitarium, and soon the search is on for Elwood and his invisible companion. Denver native Mary Chase gives us a screwball comedy about friendship that the whole family will enjoy.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at Hampden Hall in the Englewood Civic Center, 1000 East Englewood Parkway, Englewood, CO 80110. Tickets are $20.00. Seniors, students, military and group discounts are available. Groups of 10 or more also receive premier reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased online at www.goodnessgracious.org or by calling 303.968.4157.
The talented cast is led by Kevin Monahan as Elwood P. Dowd and Suzanna Wellens as his sister, Veta. Genevieve Moreland performs the role of daughter Myrtle Mae with Ryan Spittler as Dr. Sanderson. Matthew Davis returns to the Goodness Gracious! stage as Duane Wilson along with Lynn Snyder Goetz as Mrs. Chauvenet, Elwood's doting aunt. Rounding out the cast are company newcomers Randy Diamon as Dr.Chumley, Debe Hultren as Mrs. Chumley, Samara Bridwell as Nurse Kelly, Mike Kane as Judge Gafney and Michael Gurshtein as E.J. Lofgren
