"The Beauty Queen of Leenane" is set in the Irish village of Leenane, Connemara in the early 1990's and tells the darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early forties, and Mag, her manipulative aging mother, whose interference in Maureen's first and possibly final chance of a loving relationship sets in motion a train of events that leads inexorably towards a terrifying conclusion.
Director Michael Stricker has cast Emily Paton Davies as Maureen, Emma Messenger as Mag, Mark Collins as Pato and Michael Bouchard as Ray.
