The Arvada Center Stages Regional Premiere of THE GREAT GATSBY, Now thru 5/25

The regional premiere of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and adapted for the stage by Simon Levy, will open at the Arvada Center on April 29, 2014. The Great Gatsby directed by Gavin Mayer, will run in the intimate Black Box Theater April 29 - May 25, 2014. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Previews are today, April 25, 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m.. Due to popular demand three 1:00 p.m. matinees have been added on Thursdays, May 1, 8 and 15.

In this 2006 adaptation of one of the greatest American novels, audiences get a glimpse into a defining point in our history. It's the 1920s, the age of jazz and women's independence: when wealth, glamour and decadence ignited public fascination. Jay Gatsby embraced the era as he set about acquiring all the trappings of a self-made millionaire. His biggest conquest was the young socialite, Daisy. For years, Gatsby is passionate in his pursuit of her love until it all ends tragically in this classic study of American society in the early 20th century.

The cast features Anthony Bianco (Jay Gatsby), Jamie Ann Romero (Daisy Buchanan), Graham Ward (Nick Carraway), C. Clayton Blackwell (Tom Buchanan), Audra Blaser (Jordan Baker), Cailin Doran (Myrtle Wilson), Steven Cole Hughes (George Wilson), Steve Einspahr (Meyer Wolfsheim), Erik Tieze (Mr. McKee), Rachel Fowler (Mrs. McKee) and Andrew Russell (Waiter).
