Nearly a thousand yoga enthusiasts will converge in Telluride this July for what has been called "the original yoga festival". This four-day weekend experience attracts world renowned yoga instructors like Tias Little, Amy Ippoliti, Gina Caputo, Kia Miller, Mark Whitwell, and many others offering an exciting bouquet of classes difficult to find anywhere else. Yoga, meditation, outdoor sports, healing, food, music and dance are just some of the ways the Telluride Yoga Festival helps attendees stimulate the body, mind, and spirit.
BODY: The festival features yoga and movement classes in a wide variety of styles, and for people at any stage of their practice; lifelong expert of casual beginner. Along with classes in the most popular styles taught by top-level, sought-after instructors, yogis of all kinds can mix it up with workshops in stand-up paddleboard yoga, aerial yoga, ecstatic dance, slackline yoga, and other exciting novelties. For a change of pace, TYF also offers daily guided hikes up the bear creek trail, martial arts workshops, a 5K fun run, a session in Thai yoga massage to take the edge off, or a 7-course dinner to get some well-deserved indulgence.
MIND: Practitioners of conscious living can dive into a multitude of workshops in meditation, nutrition, healing, storytelling, and education. Attendees can dive into the essentials of plant medicine, learn to access deep consciousness and altered states, or simply learn best practices for dealing with a troubled and turbulent world. One intriguing session offers Jedi Training; a force-balancing combination of yoga, meditation, tibetan ritual, and body mastery. The Telluride Yoga Festival is the highest altitude event of its kind clocking in at 8,750 feet in Telluride, Colorado, and 9,500 feet in Mountain Village. The perfect environment to stretch out your muscles and mind, attendees treasure the exceptional views and friendly mountain town vibe of Telluride.
With goals reaching past the annual event, organizers are working to build Telluride Yoga Festival into a lifestyle brand for guests to use as a resource for their practice all-year-long. A community driven enterprise, organizers help share the depth of knowledge provided by guest instructors in a national blog with a high altitude attitude.
