THE COMPLETE WORLD OF SPORTS (ABRIDGED) will mark the third regional premier in a row for Avenue Theater when it opens on September 20th, at 7:30PM. 2013 Henry Award Winning Director, Bob Wells will direct the audience-interactive, family-friendly show. This is the newest show to come to Denver from The Reduced Shakespeare Company, and it turns the company's goofy irreverence on sports' journalism.

Damon Guerrasio, Eric Mather, and Steven Burge will play the pompous sports casters in thisparody of ESPN Sports Center, with several local Denver twists. Expect Payton Manning jokes alongside the world's smallest and most hysterical running of the bulls. Nuri Heckler, Avenue Theater's Executive Director said, "This show will be great for sports fans. And if you're not a sports fan, you will really love this show. It's a 90 minute roast of everything we hate, love, and love to hate about sports."

Bob Wells previously earned recognition for his comic direction of Completely Hollywood (abridged), and The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged). The Rocky Mountain News said about the latter, "Who knew there was so much humor in all that biblical fighting, fleeing, fasting, and begetting?"

Wells said of THE COMPLETE WORLD OF SPORTS (ABRIDGED), "I couldn't ask for a better cast, and the script is the funniest from Reduced [Shakespeare Company] in years."
