Stories on Stage, an award winning performing arts organization, has named Anthony Powell as Artistic Director.
Mr. Powell began his professional career touring the United States for three years as a performer with John Houseman's The Acting Company. After working onstage for several years in regional, stock and off-Broadway theatre, he came to Denver for a job with the Denver Center Theatre Company. During eighteen seasons as Associate Artistic Director with the DCTC, he directed over twenty-five main stage productions, including Wit, The Dresser and Racing Demon. Mr. Powell has acted and directed for the Arvada Center, Curious Theatre Company, Creede Repertory and Theatre Aspen.

His strong skills as a theatre director and dramaturge, as well as his 18 years with the Denver Center Theatre Company, make him a good fit for our organization. Stories on Stage, celebrating its Tenth Anniversary Season, features some of America's best actors from stage and screen, performing great literature by exceptional authors.
This season Stories on Stage will be performing at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and at the Denver Civic Theatre.
