Stories on Stage & Buntport Theater Company to Present SON OF VERY SHORT STORIES, Begin. 3/7

Stories on Stage collaborates once again with the Buntport Theater Company in Son of Very Short Stories. Denver performances are Saturday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center, located at 721 Santa Fe Drive. On Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. the show moves to the Chautauqua Community House, 900 West Baseline Road, Boulder, CO 80302. Stories on Stage ran a Flash Fiction Contest for the community and the winning submissions will be performed by Buntport members during the shows.

Flash Fiction is a genre written in celebration of Shakespeare's famous axiom that "Brevity is the soul of wit." Simply put, flash fiction is an extremely compact form of storytelling. Other names for it include: "short short story, sudden, micro, furious, skinny and postcard fiction. Famous practitioners of the form include Anton Chekhov, O. Henry, Franz Kafka, Ray Bradbury and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. The challenge of flash fiction is to tell a complete story, with a beginning, middle and end, in which every single word is absolutely essential.

Buntport Theater Company members are Brian Colonna, Hannah Duggan, Erik Edborg, Erin Rollman and Samantha Schmitz.

As a vibrant ensemble, Buntport Theater Company is intent on creating innovative and affordable entertainment, by writing and producing all of their work. Each piece grows from a collaborative process, without specific directors or designers, relying on the combined skills of the whole ensemble.
