Springs Ensemble Theatre ("SET") continues its seventh season with Stephen Adly Guirgis's THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT, beginning performances today.
Thirty pieces of silver made his name synonymous with traitor. Now Judas Iscariot, history's most hated sinner, gets his day in Purgatory's court. After spending a couple millennia in the ninth circle of Hell, Judas Iscariot's case is brought before a jury of people awaiting their own judgment. But can a man trapped by his own guilt and despair ever truly be exonerated? Judas's final actions on Earth are debated by saints and sinners alike in a trial where apostles, Mother Teresa, Sigmund Freud, Satan, and Christ Himself will all testify. THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT is the smart, mostly-hilarious, and sometimes-heartbreaking story of Judas's ultimate fate.
Max Ferguson who directed the Henry Award Nominated production of The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, is back at the helm for THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT, which features performances from a slew of Colorado Springs and Denver talent. SET ensemble member Jonathan Margheim, last seen in SET's production of The (Curious Case of the) Watson Intelligence, is the titular Judas. Guest artists performing in this production include: Alayna Rose Alonge, Armour Ratcliffe, Barbara Summerville, Desiree Myers, Greg Reilly, Jack Williamson, James Amos, Jim Valone, John A. Zincone, Miriam Roth, and Taylor Geiman, with Warren Epstein as Satan.
