The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open She Loves Me directed by Gavin Mayer on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:30 p.m. The musical will run through December 21 in the Main Stage Theater. Previews are November 21 - 23 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Please note: There will not be a performance on Thursday, November 27 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The performance has been moved to Sunday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. Talkbacks will be offered Friday, December 5 after the 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, December 10 after the 1:00 p.m. show. Georg and Amalia are two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930s, who find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals. Unbeknownst to them, the letter-writing objects of their affection are each other! Funny, intelligent and sentimental She Loves Me is the perfect holiday date night. She Loves Me features music Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, the creative team of Fiddler on the Roof. The book is written by Joe Masteroff and is based on the play by Miklos Laszlo.
The cast features Andrew Russell (Georg Nowack), Julia Jackson (Amalia Balash), Rob Costigan (Ladislov Sipos), Mark Rubald (Mr. Maraczek), Greg Gerbrandt (Steven Kodaly), Jennifer Lorae (Ilona Ritter), Parker Redford (Arpad Laszlo) and Stephen Day (Waiter). The ensemble members are Piper Lindsay Arpan, Jean-Luc Cavnar, Maddie Franke, Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck, Tim Howard, Brian Jackson, Andrew Keeler, Michael Ochoa, Megan Van De Hey and Rachel Turner.
In addition to director Gavin Mayer, the creative team includes David Nehls (musical director), Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck (choreographer), Brian Mallgrave (scenic design), Liz Jasperse (costume design), Vance McKenzie (light design) and David Thomas (sound design).
