The Denver Center for the Performing Arts will host its 32nd annual signature fundraiser, Saturday Night Alive, on March 3, 2012, with the addition of smartphone bidding and three coveted opportunities to see The Book of Mormon. Three Dog Night will be the entertainer.

Patrons may bid on three opportunities to see The Book of Mormon. One item is a VIP Table to the sold-out The Book of Mormon Gala which will celebrate the tour launch in Denver. Roger Hutson, sponsor of The Book of Mormon Gala, donated this auction item.

Additional auction item highlights include: trips on United Airlines to Australia, London & Paris; more than 30 destination trips courtesy of Starwood Hotels & Resorts; a walk-on role in the Denver Center Theatre Company’s production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas in The Buell Theatre; a Tim Tebow signed jersey; a Paramount Studios VIP Tour and original works of art from more than 30 participating artists and galleries.

Auction Chairman, Jamie Angelich, states, “Saturday Night Alive carries a reputation of presenting the best auction in Denver, and this year is no different. In fact, it’s better than ever!”

Colorado State Bank and Trust partners with The Denver Center for the Performing Arts as a first-time auction sponsor of the Saturday Night Alive. Bill Sullivan, President and CEO of Colorado State Bank and Trust, adds, “The DCPA is a crown jewel in the cultural life of our city, state and region, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support this great organization and its Arts in Education program.”

Saturday Night Alive regularly raises more than $650,000 to support The Denver Center’s extensive educational programs, which reach more than 50,000 students. Over the past three decades, an estimated $14 million has helped the Center provide theatre programs to more than 1 million children.

Ryta and Steve Sondergard chair the event with corporate chairs Peter and Janet Swinburn.  Peter Swinburn is the President and CEO of Molson Coors Brewing Company.   Event sponsors include: Colorado State Bank & Trust, Century Link, Epicurean Catering, Molson Coors, United Airlines, Westin Denver Downtown and Anadarko.

Three Dog Night’s songs include music from pop culture today -- songs like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come),” “Joy to the World,” “Black and White,” “Shambala,” and “One” serve to heighten the emotions and crystallize the band’s continuing popularity. Originally formed in 1968, Three Dog Night maintains a year-round touring schedule of more than 80 dates a year. Its songs are performed for audiences spanning generations, by founding members Cory Wells and Danny Hutton on lead vocals, as well as original keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon and guitarist Michael Allsup. Paul Kingery (bass and vocals) and Pat Bautz (drums) complete the lineup.

Saturday Night Alive is held on Saturday, March 3 in the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex at Speer & Arapahoe. For more information on the sold-out event call 303.446.4815 or visit denvercenter.org/sna
