The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is pleased to announce that with the help of many individuals, businesses, and foundations, the Ritchie Challenge not only met but exceeded its $500,000 goal by raising over $1 million in donations to the Center. The Challenge was a personal commitment by Chairman and CEO Daniel L. Ritchie to match new and increased gifts in the DCPA's 2010/11 season.
With the economic challenges facing cultural institutions, the DCPA faced endowments that needed to be re-built, facilities that not only needed to be maintained but also improved and funding that is less secure than it was just two years ago while maintaining commitment to quality program and education. Mr. Ritchie posed the challenge that if others would give $500,000 in new and increased gifts, he would be pleased and proud to match it with a personal gift of $500,000. The overwhelming support received from the Ritchie Challenge allowed the DCPA to continue to provide world class theatre and educational programming.
"The real reason the Challenge succeeded was because the Denver community has a deep appreciation for great theatre and because of the great work by our people here at the Denver Center," commented Chairman and CEO Daniel L. Ritchie.
The DCPA is a not-for-profit organization and all gifts are 100% tax deductible. For more information on donating to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts visit
