Starring Rhonda Brown, the acclaimed play, "Red Hot Patriot - The Kick-ass Wit of Molly Ivins," will be presented at The Clocktower Cabaret on Friday and Saturday, October 7th and 8th at 8pm, and Sunday, October 9th at 7pm (fundraiser). The club is located in the historic D&F Clock Tower at 1601 Arapahoe Street in Denver. Tickets are $25.
Often described as a modern-day Mark Twain, Molly Ivins made rabid fans and enemies alike with her sharp-tongued humor and unabashed political criticism. The show captures the redheaded reporter's indomitable character by weaving personal anecdotes with her colorful take on national politics. Molly Ivins, was a brassy Texan reporter during the 1980s-'90s, whose liberal journalism skyrocketed her to national celebrity status.
The play was written by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel and produced and directed by Richard H. Pegg.
