Denver's Vintage Theatre Productions, founded in 2002 over a vintage martini glass, announces exciting changes to their 2011 season.  They will be presenting the classic Grapes of Wrath and present the Colorado premiere or Avenue Q.  When asked about getting the rights to one of the most sought after Broadway plays this season, Artistic Director and Founder, Craig A. Bond replyed, "It is the right time for Vintage Theatre to take on an edgy adult comedy.  We were lucky enough to take on this fantastically fun endeavor and feel we will have much success in offering it from November 11 to Jan 8 - as a great alternative to traditional holiday fare."  Fabulous alternative holiday fare indeed - Here is a listing of their exciting season!

July 1 - July 31 - Moonlight & Magnolias by Ron Hutchinson. Directed by Luke Terry. Movie mogul David O. Selznick shuts down filming of Gone With The Wind and locks director Victor Fleming and writer Ben Hecht in his office until they can complete a new screenplay in this zany comedy hit (PLEASE NOTE - BWW Review to come out this week!).

August 19 - September 18Love! Valour! Compassion! By Terrence McNally. Directed by Bernie Cardell At a beautiful Dutchess County farmhouse, eight gay men hash out their passions, resentments and fears over the course of three summer weekends.  It's life as usual, until one of the men brings his new boyfriend Ramon, an irresistible dancer who callously flaunts his sex appeal who manages to change everything on his first night in the house.

September 30 - October 30 - The Grapes of Wrath by Frank Galati, from the novel by John Steinbeck.Directed by Lorraine Scott. This deeply moving epic drama follows the Joad family as they journey from Oklahoma to California during the Great Depression. Their courage, faith, and strength in the face of anguish and adversity are a testament to the enduring human spirit. This classic work is a sweepingly panoramic theatrical event that is as timeless as it is inspiring. The Grapes of Wrath replaces To Kill a Mockingbird on the Vintage Theatre schedule.

Avenue Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy The Slut (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life!  Avenue Q replaces Over the River and Through the Woods and the 2nd Annual Very Dark Holiday Festivus on the Vintage Theatre schedule.
