Photo Flash: Breckenridge Backstage Theatre Presents ANNIE

Leapin' lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one the world's best-loved Broadway musicals as ANNIE premieres at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center through September 2nd. Get a first look at the cast in action below!

In this family-friendly musical, Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan, the funniest villain this side of a Disney cartoon. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil schemes, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and finds a new family and home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

The musical features a book by Thomas Meehan (THE PRODUCERS), music by Charles Strouse (BYE BYE BIRDIE), and lyrics by Martin Charnin. ANNIE has captured countless hearts since its debut four decades ago, and it remains a beloved and inspiring musical whose story of optimism during difficult days remains timeless.

The show is directed by Christopher Willard (BBT's BILLY ELLIOT), choreographed by Abbey Austin (SPAMALOT 2014), and music directed by Simon Daum. Tracks are by Donna Debreceni (AVENUE Q). Light Design is by Sean Mallary (CHICAGO). Costume design is by Britta Bowers.

Professional actors join a large Summit County cast. Ceaira Seiber headlines as Annie. John B Boss is Oliver Warbucks, Hannah Marie Harmon is Grace Farrell, and Lenore Giardina is Hannigan. Damon Guerrasio plays Rooster Hannigan, and Abbey Austin is Lily St. Regis. Jim Anderson is Drake, and Kirt Greenburg appears as F.D.R.

The Orphan principals are played by Mikaela Clark (Duffy), Sophia Feller (Tessie), Kaelin Love (July), Tessa Ramsay (Kate), Chanel Richmond (Pepper), and Joely Rupert (Molly).

The large ensemble includes Alena, Brina and Lauretta Babich, Will Bentley, Ellie Browne, Jesse Busnardo, David Cope, Maggie Fisk, Gracie Giardina, Peyton and Riley Goosen, Ana Golgoon, Aida Guerra, Ian and Lisa Hans, Cathie Hill, Bridgette Hough, Isabella Imamura, Ellyn Lew, Ava Liebendorfer, Haven Leinweber, Gabby Magliocchetti, Saskia Martin-Williams, Zach Merriman, Julio Mora, Linna Mora, Kaydence Murphy, Anna Marie Murrell, Haley, Maddie and Randy Nations, Addison and Tara Olson, Hailey Pfeiffer, Levi Quandt, Laurie Rambaud, Dunie Righter, Talia Rupert, Natalie Scott, Ella Suchomski, Indira Tancheff, and Alice Wescott and Paige Wescott.

ANNIE plays exclusively at the Riverwalk Center located at 150 W Adams Avenue in Breckenridge

Performances are Friday August 24 at 7 pm, Saturday, August 25 at 2pm and 7pm, Sunday, August 26 at 6 pm. The show continues Friday, August 31 at 7 pm, Saturday September 1 at 7 pm, and plays its final performance on Sunday September 2 at 4 pm.
