Parasol Arts to Present PIAZZOLLA EN SUS PALABRAS at Colorado Ballet

Parasol Arts will present Piazzolla En Sus Palabras (Piazzolla in His Own Words) written and directed by Parasol Arts Creative Director, Lorita Travaglia. Performances will be at Colorado Ballet's Black Box Theatre located at 1075 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, Colorado 80204.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $26 for General Admission or $36 for VIP Seating and are available online at www.ParasolArts.org.

Back by popular demand, Piazzolla En Sus Palabras tells the story of Astor Piazzolla, Argentina's illustrious musician and composer of the 20th century who revolutionized the music of Tango and created Tango Nuevo. Using Piazzolla's own words, Parasol Arts' Creative Director, Lorita Travaglia, created the script for actor Joey Wishnia who portrays an older Piazzolla reminiscing about his life, his music and his lovers. Piazzolla's music is played live by the Austin Piazzolla Quintet and the characters of Piazzolla at different ages, as well as people in his life are all portrayed by professional Argentine Tango dancers from Parasol Arts, Natural Tango and the Colorado Ballet. Previous performances of Piazzolla En Sus Palabras have all sold out.

"Astor Piazzolla's music revolutionized Argentine Tango and his life was as rich, diverse and complex as his music," offers Lorita Travaglia, "Inspired by this, Piazzolla En Sus Palabras is a colorful, entertaining and moving story of the life and music of Piazzolla, told in his own words. The production is the marriage of theatre, artistically enhanced by the talents of professional Argentine Tango and Ballet dancers, and Piazzolla's music, played live by the Austin Piazzolla Quintet. Piazzolla En Sus Palabras features the talents of: Joey Wishnia as Astor Piazzolla and Joachin Salazar-Diaz as Young Piazzolla as well as the dancing talents of: Amy Anderson, Diana Cruz, Sean Ericson, Gregory Gonzales, Cynthia Gottlob, Nick Jones, Grisha Nisnevich and Lorita Travaglia. The show also features Francisco Estevez and Tracy Jones from the Colorado Ballet and the Austin Piazzolla Quintet.
