New Emancipation Theater Company Offers World Premiere Play HONORABLE DISORDER ImageEmancipation Theater Company is exciting to announce their inaugural production. Honorable Disorder will be April 6 through April 29 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 6:00 PM. Performances will be at the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Studio located at 119 Park Avenue West, Denver CO 80205. Tickets are $25 in advance online at www.EmancipationTheater.com.

About the show: Honorable Disorder tells the story of DeShawn Foster, a native of Denver's Five Points neighborhood and a veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following the loss of his commanding officer and father figure, DeShawn struggles to hold on to the life lessons he was taught in the military and his "Soldier's Creed." The only other surviving platoon member is DeShawn's friend Justin, who has given up on society, the government and their shared creed. Also part of this fascinating and poignant story is DeShawn's mother, her brother (a former featherweight boxer) and their new neighbor, Samantha, who hopes to use DeShawn's story as her own motivation to transform her career and to fulfill her life's purpose.

Honorable Disorder addresses the issues of a typical American family in the dynamic landscape that is present-day Denver, Colorado as seen through the eyes of a young black man and his perceived value by those that care most for him.

The new Emancipation Theater Company is the latest artistic endeavor by Artistic Director Jeff Campbell. Its mission is to create original, provocative storytelling that challenges the conventional wisdom of contemporary social issues affecting the 21st Century. Jeff Campbell is available for interviews upon request.

Said writer and director, Jeff Campbell, "After working with Veterans in 2016 in Georgia, listening to their stories inspired me to write this script. It's integral to reestablishing our core values as a country that we transform the dialogue around veterans." And Actor Theo Wilson offers, "Throwing veterans away is the hallmark of a culture addicted to making humans disposable."

About Jeff Campbell: Jeff Campbell has been a part of Denver's creative community for over two decades as a pioneering Hip Hop and spoken word artist, as well as a facilitator of arts in education programs for Colorado's youth in public schools. In 2015, He was named one of Westword's 100 Colorado Creative's. He is also the writer of the critically acclaimed Who Killed Jigaboo Jones? a One-Man Mockumentary on the Hip Hop Industrial Complex, and Final Fight of the Freedom Fighter a comedic play about the complexities of intersectionality in activism.
