PHAMALY celebrates the 5th year of the innovative, original sketch comedy show Vox PHAMALIA: Cinco de VOX. Last year, audiences found out the answers to "How do you have sex if you're paralyzed?" and "How exactly would disability speed-dating go?" Now PHAMALY and Director Edith Weiss bring you the fifth installment of Vox PHAMALIA.

Through the first four years of Vox many local celebrities have assisted this program by gracing our stage. We've invited these supporters to join us on opening night! October 26 promises to be a celebrity-studded opening night celebration, along with a post-show reception.

Co-written by PHAMALY's own actors with disabilities, this year's "differently-abled sketch comedy" will feature Best-Of sketches from the last five years, plus tons of new additions, all taking comic revenge on anyone who takes things a little too tragically. Some of this year's new titles include Stroke Me - a woman gets a debilitating stroke at 16, on picture day in High School. The piece ends with her getting her head shots for her acting career; I See C. P. P. - I See Cerebral Palsied People. An honest and humorous take on living with various degrees of this condition by four of the cast members who have it; Volunteer - An inside look into the workings of the PHAMALY office: Do you cast a limbless man as a doormat? And you can look forward to Gimps Gone Wild - Pick-Up Lines for everybody: Is that a colostomy bag in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?

Led by well known Colorado Director/Playwright Edith Weiss, Vox PHAMALIA Studio Series is the result of an annual writing-to-performing development workshop, designed for PHAMALY members to explore the process of writing an original piece, having it selected and taken to performance. The theatrical devices of improvisation, sketch comedy, dramatic story telling and music are all used in the workshop process. She tells us, "With the largest and most diverse cast we've ever had, this Vox is full of new energy and ideas. It's the best so far." Edith was awarded Best Direction of a Play by The Denver Post&Best of Westword.

The cast and writers of this year's VOX are BrIan Bernard, Dominique Frary, Donnie Gabenski, Rennie Hart, Brian Hyde, Ashley Kelashian, Amber Marsh, Paul Migliorelli, Julie Miley, Lucy Roucis, Trenton Schindele, James Sherman, Teri Westerman, Ruth Ann White, Stephanie Williams, Shannon Wilson, David Wright and Alicia 'Lisa' Young.
