With music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, Fiddler is set in Tsarist Russia in 1905, and is based on Tevye and his Daughters by Sholem Aleichem. Filled with a rousing, heartwarming score, which includes "Tradition," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "If I Were A Rich Man" and "Sunrise, Sunset,” Fiddler on the Roof is a timeless classic- -that has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth and honesty.
Real-life husband and wife team Patrick Sawyer and Melissa Swift-Sawyer are sharing the stage at Candlelight playing Tevye and Golde, one of the most famous married couples in musical theater history.
