THE B-TEAM EXPLODES ALL OVER THE AVENUE THEATER

Inappropriate. Insensitive. Stupid funny. The B-Team attacks the Avenue Theater - turban first - March 12th through April 2nd. This regional premiere pairs former Boulderite writer David Holstein with Denverite director Jeremy Make in a fit of hilarity and jihad.

The B-Team follows a second-string terrorist sleeper cell stationed in Buffalo, NY. We have the leader, whose thumbs are paralyzed in the Fonzerelli "thumbs up" position, a militant homophobe, a bomb maker seduced by Adidas, the grandmaster with a penchant for Orange Julius and a Jew who really hates his mother. Their desperate struggle to accomplish something grand, find love, approval, martyrdom and, yes, the occasional Chicken McNugget will have you LOL-ing - if not ROFL-ing. And hey, if you're an inept terrorist, you might just be offended.

Obviously, David Holstein was busy playing Game Boy when his parents told him it's not polite to mix religion and politics. His day job is writing for the hit Showtime series Weeds. He's also deeply committed to the theater. Like so committed he would marry it. But only if it agreed to a destination wedding. His plays have been produced all around the world-from NYC, Atlanta, Chicago and LA to the UK and Sydney. For more on David, point your interwebs device to www.holstein.com.

Jeremy Make has acted in homegrown films like Ink and Skills Like This, tread the boards with every local company whose name starts with an 'A' - The Arvada Center, The Avenue, The Aurora Fox - and directed national and regional premieres around the country. Mr. Make is honored to direct his friend's play with this all-star cast. The players include Eric Mather, Jake Walker, Michael Bouchard, Enzo Sariñana, Michael Shalhoub and Steven Burge as Brian the Jew.

The B-Team is playing at the Avenue Theater March 12 - April 2, 2011, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm.  For tickets or more information, contact the box office at 303-321-5925 or visit them online at www.avenuetheater.com.
