The 73rd Avenue Theatre presents the World Premiere of BILLY THE POET, written and directed by Bill Thompson November 4 - 20.  Billy, a vagrant poet, lives in a shelter with his three disturbed wives. In this dark journey to the twilight world of society's dispossessed, he is preparing his "family" for the upcoming Helter- Skelter which will bring about the end of the world.

The cast (in order of appearance) includes Cindy Hall (Reader), Jacob d'Armand (Billy), Jacqueline Garcia (Malvira), Valerye Rene (Bianca), Kristin Honiotes (Fangora), Bill Thompson (Cop, Dad), and Scott Jamieson (Minister).

Bill Thompson is a playwright, producer, director and actor.  His play Good Morning, Mr. D. was one of the winners of the Boot Camp Challenge this past July.  His plays Miss Crackberry won second place at the Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Playwriting Competition in 2010; Babette won second place in the one act play competition at the same contest.  BILLY THE POET was produced in the summer 2008 at the West Colfax Events Center and the Red Rocks Community Theatre in a 10 minute play version.  Maxwell Edison was produced in the summer of 2006 at the Red Rocks Community Theatre.  Bill last appeared on stage as Colonel Pickering in Pygmalion at the 73rd Avenue Theatre.  Bill is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the Colorado Theatre Guild, and lives in Denver.  

The 73rd Avenue Theatre presents the World Premiere of BILLY THE POET, November 4 - 20. with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 2:30 p.m. The 73rd.
