Miners Alley Playhouse presents the world premiere production of "Dylan Went Electric" September 12 through October 19 with performances every Friday and Saturday at 7:30.p.m. and Sunday's at 6:00 p.m. (2 p.m. on Sun., October 19). The World Premiere of "Dylan Went Electric" is written by award-winning playwright Josh Hartwell. In a Bohemian tavern in Greenwich Village in 1969 - witty and eccentric characters explore the truth of their life and times. Featuring live music, original songs and an onstage bar (which will be open to the audience at intermission); you will be transported back to the colorful and tumultuous times of the 1960's.

Len Matheo, Executive Director at Miners Alley Playhouse, says, "We specifically chose this play because of the excellent script and our desire to develop new works. Dylan Went Electric is a perfect fit for Miners Alley Playhouse."

Under the direction of award-winning director, Jim Hunt, the cast includes Damon Guerrasio (Norman), Lindsey Pierce (Gina), Drew Horwitz (Phil), Karen Slack (Petra), Erica Sarzin-Borrillo (Edna), Morris--Leroy Leonard (Morris) and Isaiah Kelley (Bartholomew),

Josh Hartwell is an award-winning and internationally produced playwright. His play Contrived Ending earned feature film and Off-Broadway contracts with Starry Night Entertainment. The Rank and the Bloodrush was a semi-finalist for The O'Neill Festival's New Play Conference and won second place at the Bottletree One Act Play Competition in Kingston, Ontario. A Different Client was recently produced in Auckland, NZ; Melbourne and Sydney, AU; and Buffalo NY.

Hartwell is a writer for Buntport Theater's monthly family-friendly show, Duck Duck Dupe. He has written for Curious Theatre Company's "Denver Stories" since 2005, and has been an instructor for young playwrights with Curious New Voices since 2008. He is also the first Colorado Regional Representative for the Dramatists Guild of America.

"Dylan Went Electric" will feature different local musicians every weekend (sometimes a new one each night) throughout the run of the show.
