Denver-based MW Productions brings Suicide(s) in Vegas to the Mile High City for one weekend only August 10-11 at Spark Theater.

Life's a bitch. What do you do when you want to end it all, but not alone? A random internet search connects Lydia, a charismatic self-help guru, to Jane, a lonely tollbooth collector. Their final destination: Vegas. But surviving (and dying) are tricky in this dark comedy by Evan Placey, winner of the Tarragon Theatre RBC National Playwriting Competition.

Suicide(s) in Vegas toured the Canadian Fringe Theatre circuit in 2011 to great acclaim. Featuring Denver's Next Improv Star finalist Margaret Whittum and Seoul 48Hour Film Fest Best Actor (2010) Jessica Coyle. See the play the Centaur Theatre of Montreal nominated BEST English Production (2011) for the Frankie Awards at the Montreal Fringe!

Evan Placey is a Canadian UK-based playwright. He is currently under co-commission with Birmingham Rep, Theatre Royal Plymouth, and West Yorkshire Playhouse, as well as the Unicorn Theatre, YPT (Canada), BBC Radio 3 and The National Theatre in London. His debut full-length play Mother of Him won Canada's RBC Under 30 National Playwriting Competition (Tarragon Theatre) and the King's Cross Award for New Writing (UK). It was also short listed for the Rod Hall Memorial Award (Rod Hall/ Paines Plough Theatre Company). A Hebrew production continues to run at the Beit Lessin Theatre in Tel Aviv since it opened in September 2011. Evan Placey and Margaret Whittum have been collaborating since the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and this marks their 4th project together.
