Lauren Shealy Steps Into THE DOYLE & DEBBIE SHOW Through 7/14

Denver Center Attractions (DCA) in association with lonesome road productions present THE DOYLE & DEBBIE SHOW playing The Garner Galleria Theatre. Local favorite, Lauren Shealy, steps into the role of Debbie now through July 14. Tickets are on sale now at denvercenter.org.

Created by Bruce Arntson, THE DOYLE & DEBBIE SHOW features all-original songs and is a sublime homage and parody, simultaneously idolizing and lampooning country music's tradition of iconic duos and the battle of the sexes that accompany them. They take audiences on a freewheeling joyride through a wickedly funny script and score - all delivered with utmost sincerity. THE DOYLE & DEBBIE SHOW stars Bruce Arntson, Lauren Shealy and Matthew Carlton. Denver audiences will remember Lauren Shealy from the recent DCA production of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, as well as Doris in the Arvada Center's production of Miracle On 34th Street - a role for which she recently earned the Westword Best of Denver award for Best Actress in a Musical.

Doyle Mayfield, an old-guard country star with a handful of hits back in the 70s and 80s, is reviving his career thirty years, four wives and three Debbies later. The new Debbie, a single mother with three children, sees this lovable lothario as her last chance to make it big in Nashville - but she also questions hitching her star to this loose cannon.

The show first performed in June 2006 in Nashville, TN. THE DOYLE & DEBBIE SHOW opened in the legendary Bluegrass venue, The Station Inn, in October 2007, where it played Tuesday nights for more than six years. Doyle and Debbie have performed in a variety of venues around the country, including two appearances on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." The show then played an eight month run in Chicago where it was hailed by Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune, as "...hilarious. Drop-dead funny" and "Fall-of-the-bar-stool fun" by ChicagoNow.com.
