Jeff Biehl, Nija Okoro, and More to Lead Cast of DCPA's ZOEY'S PERFECT WEDDING

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is proud to announce full casting and creative team for the Theatre Company's World Premiere production of Zoey's Perfect Wedding.

Zoey's Perfect Wedding reunites playwright Matthew Lopez, author of The Whipping Man, one of the most produced plays of the past several years with director Mike Donahue. The pair also collaborated at the DCPA Theatre Company on the World Premiere of Lopez's The Legend of Georgia McBride, which went onto a successful run Off-Broadway at MCC Theater.

The DCPA Theatre Company's World Premiere production will feature Jeff Biehl (Charlie), Grayson DeJesus (Sammy), Nick Ducassi (DJ), Nija Okoro (Zoey), Mallory Portnoy (Rachel) and Kristin Villanueva (Missy).

The production will include designs by Dane Laffrey (Scenic Designer), Dede Ayite (Costume Designer), Charles R. MacLeod (Lighting Designer), Veronika Vorel (Sound Designer), Kimberly Colburn (Dramaturg), Elissa Myers Casting/Paul Foquet, CSA (Casting), and stage management by Kurt Van Raden (Stage Manager) and Corin Ferris (Assistant Stage Manager).

The blushing bride. The touching toast. The celebration of true love. These are the dreams of Zoey's big day...and the opposite of what it's turning out to be. Disaster after disaster follow her down the aisle, from brutally honest boozy speeches to a totally incompetent wedding planner. Even worse, her friends are too preoccupied with their own relationship woes to help with the wreckage around them. Like a car crash you can't look away from, watch in awe as this wildly funny fiasco destroys her expectations with the realities of commitment, fidelity and growing up.
