Ignite Theatre Presents AIDA at Aurora Fox Theatre, Now thru 1/19

Aida, the Tony Award winning musical based on the Verdi opera, is the story of the unlikely love triangle between Amneris, the Pharo's daughter, Radames, captain of the Egyptian army and Aida, an enslaved Nubian princess. As a forbidden love blossoms between Aida and Radames, the young lovers are between love, responsibility or death. A timeless star crossed love story that sets a shining example of true devotion that transcends the cultural differences of race and, ultimately, time itself.

Ignite Theatre presents "Aida" opening today, December 28, 2013 through Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Aurora Fox Theatre, 9900 East Colfax Avenue in Aurora. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays with additional shows on Monday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 Adult, $19 Student, $24 Group (6+). The cast, under the direction of Keith Rabin, includes Olivia James (Aida), Alejandro Roldan (Radames), Lindsey Falduto (Amneris), Alex Salinas (Zoser), Carlos Jimenez (Mereb), Anna High (Nehebka) Jennifer Perruca is Jennifer Gibb and Thairone Vigil-Medina (Pharaoh/Amonasro). Rounding out the cast are ensemble members Asad Clinton, Cengiz Dokumaci, Jennifer Gibb, BRandon Lopez, Tashara May, Samantha Motsinger, Tyler Neilson, Jeffrey Parizotto, Terra Salazar, Stephanie Salinas, Will Treat and Laura Williams.

Ignite Theatre will be transforming the Aurora Fox into Exhibition Aida! A Museum like Egyptian exhibit that will share the story and time of Aida through this interactive experience featuring Egyptian artifacts on loan from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science! Live actors will also model costume pieces from the period.

"Aida" was awarded four Tony Awards including Best Original Musical Score and won a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album.
