Garden benches and butcher knives meet budding lust and severed love in this sanguine romantic comedy. Angela sees past William's Bottom to the psychotic killer within. As they find each other on benches from L.A. to Florence, Angela's daughter, Diana, misses her chance for romantic chemistry on the benches of Washington Square Park. Will Angela and William ever snog again? Will Diana spoil everyone's fun? Can George, a well-armed, and thoroughly intoxicated director, save the day and restore balance and harmony to the universe?
This production features performances by Tracy Hunziker, Steve Sladaritz, Chip Mac Enulty, Nicole Goeke, Matt Alvarado, Justin Anderson and Monica Erck. ITALY is directed by Funky Artistic Director, Chris Medina. ITALY is being produced by Taylor Geiman and Funky Little Theater Company.
Michele Berdinis, along with the cast and director, will be attending talkbacks immediately following the opening weekend performances (Jan 15-Jan 16).
Michele Berdinis (Playwright) has been playing with her imaginary friends her whole life, but only recently began putting their words on paper. She has been lucky enough to have readings of her full-length plays and productions of her shorter works at The Abingdon Theatre Company in New York, the Charter Theatre in Washington, DC and Funky Little Theater Company and The Millibo Art Theatre in Colorado Springs. In 2010, Michele was a finalist in the Actors Theatre of Louisville Humana National Ten-Minute Play Contest. Michele practices law while she waits for the Shubert organization to call.
