As inspiration for their Christmas show, Frequent Flyers Productions has posed the question, "What would happen if the infamous rats take down the Nutcracker and carry the audience into a world where flight and fantasy are a reality?" A Boulder, Colorado-based aerial-dance company presents their own fanciful take on the Nutcracker in a holiday show, Ratcracker. This family spin-off runs Friday, November 30-December 9. Performances are Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. at 7:00 PM.  All shows are at the Dairy Center for the Arts (2590 Walnut Street, Boulder).

Tickets are all by reserved seating at $25. Patrons may also buy four or more tickets at $20 each. Tickets will be available by phone or in person through the Dairy’s box office starting mid-October: 303-444-SEAT (Monday – Friday, noon- 5 PM) or online with a credit card at www.thedairy.org. Tickets will also be available at the door at the time of the show. The box office opens one hour prior to show time.

Frequent Flyers® Productions’ creative holiday offering takes its inspiration from the traditional Nutcracker and according to Frequent Flyers, turns it upside down.  Instead of just traditional ballet, dancers use the low-flying trapeze, Spanish web, stilts, bungee, rope and harness, aerial fabric, and even a flying bed to take the audience on a topsy-turvy journey into the Rat Kingdom. Ratcracker is set to an eclectic Nutcracker-inspired score that is intended for adults and children of all ages. Ratcracker is performed by Frequent Flyers’ professional company and joined by the Frequent Flyers’ community apprentice company.
