The Play

Fort Worth, Texas, 1963- President Kennedy is in town and life is pretty exciting. All except for private investigator: Karen Simple; it's not easy being a female detective in a man's' world. With little cooperation from her cop friends, Karen desires more excitement in her life. That wish comes true when she is approached by Emily Morgan, a housewife fearing her husband might be unfaithful. Karen takes on a seemingly normal investigation, but there is nothing simple about it. Karen quickly comes face to face with corrupt lawyers, shady bartenders, and an elusive killer all connected to her investigation. The body count rises as Karen stops at nothing to solve the mystery.

"A Simple Case" marks part 2 of Firehouse's staged read series and opens on the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination.
