"Earth and Sky" is a poetic thriller about a would-be poet and part-time librarian named Sara McKeon whose lover of ten weeks, David Ames, is found dead one hot August morning. It appears that David, owner and manager of an expensive art-deco restaurant, may have been involved in several illicit activities including kidnapping, rape and murder. Unable to believe that the man she gave her heart to was a killer, and outraged that the police seem to have closed the book on the case, Sara begins her own investigation of the crime and is led deeper and deeper through the urban labyrinth into the contemporary underworld.

The cast includes Julie Butters-Wolf (Sarah McKeon), Owen Niland (Detective H.E. Weber), Brian J. Brooks(David Ames), Richard Witherspoon (Detective Al Kersnowski), Veronica Straight-Lingo (Joyce Lazlo), Seth Maisel (Julius Gatz), Mike Kienker (Billy Hart), Kristen Mair (Marie DeFaria) and Dave Cuomo (Carl Eisenstadt).

Douglas Post's plays, which include "Bloodshot," "Cynical Weathers," "Drowning Sorrows," "Earth and Sky," "Murder in Green Meadows" and musicals, which include "God and Country," "The Real Life Story of Johnny de Facto" and "The Wind in the Willows,"have been widely produced and he has been nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award and an Emmy Award. Mr. Post is a Founding Member of the Victory Gardens Playwrights Ensemble, teaches at Chicago Dramatists, and is the Chicago Regional Representative for the Dramatists Guild of America.
