The insanely popular musical Forever Plaid will fill the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center stage with harmonies, laughs and a story with lots of heart and soul.
In fact, "Heart and Soul" is one of the many 1950's and 60's jukebox hits in the show. The more than two dozen hits include:: "Three Coins in the Fountain," "Undecided," "Gotta Be This or That," "Moments to Remember," "Crazy 'Bout Ya Baby," "No, Not Much," "Sixteen Tons," "Chain Gang," "Perfidia," "Cry," Lady of Spain," "Scotland the Brave," "Shangri-La," "Rags to Riches" and "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing."
Far from merely a musical revue, Forever Plaid tells the story of four eager, young doo-wop-style singers killed on the way to their biggest gig. The afterlife brings them, somehow, to the Fine Arts Center stage, where they get to perform the concert that never was.
The show will be directed and choreographed by the FAC's Associate Director for Performing Arts, Nathan Halvorson and features a stellar cast: Jesse Havea, Thadd Krueger, Jason Lythgoe and Kevin Pierce.
With special performances on both Mothers Day and Memorial Day weekend, there's sure to be a special occasion to bring the whole family out to what is sure to be the musical hit of the season.
