The Denver Center for the Performing Arts' popular Women with Hattitude luncheon returns for Act Seven, Thursday May 3, at 11:30am in the Seawell Grand Ballroom. More than $20,000 will be raised to support the Women's Voices Fund at the Denver Center Theatre Company, which enables the company to commission and produce plays written by women. More than 600 participants attending this annual benefit will enjoy a reading from one of the Denver Center's coveted women playwrights, Karen Zacarias who has been commissioned to adapt Helen Thorpe's novel, Just Like Us; musical selections from Denver Center Attractions' I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and the Denver Center Theatre Companys' Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash; and an impromptu fashion show of hats selected from among the attendees. Mariel will provide awards for the fashion show and Epicurean Catering will provide lunch. First Lady of Denver, Mary Louise Lee will make the welcoming remarks and Kelly Ford of KYGO will emcee the event. New this year, the grand-door-prize for online purchases is two roundtrip tickets on Southwest Airlines.

The Denver Center Theatre Company presents the musical revue Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash created by Richard Maltby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade, playing The Stage Theatre through May 13. Experience the music of the legendary Johnny Cash in this revue that uses more than three dozen of the singer's best-known songs to describe the journey of a man in search of his soul. Full of love and emotion, humor and empathy, the show– like all country songs– tells it like it is.
