The Colorado Springs Chorale proudly announces its 31st annual Deck the Hall concert at Pikes Peak Center on Friday evening, December 8, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. The event features the Colorado Springs Chorale with a guest instrumental ensemble, and it will feature the Summit Ensemble and Pikes Peak Singers of the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale directed by Kimberley Schultz and Victoria Lipscomb respectively. Also, KCME and Jazz 93.5 FM radio personality Jana Lee Ross will read an excerpt from the beloved classic The Wind in the Willows, and large projections of illustrations by local artist/illustrator Michael Hague. Tickets $15 to $50 are available by visiting pikespeakcenter.com online or by visiting the Pikes Peak Center Box Office at 190 S. Cascade Ave. Complete information and program details are available by calling the Chorale office, or by visiting www.cschorale.org.

"For this year's Deck the Hall concert, we've pulled out the stops to make sure that it is a choral extravaganza that is fun and uplifting for all ages," says artistic director Deborah Jenkins Teske. "In addition to plenty of beloved carols and Christmas classics such as Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, there will be musical selections from favorite Christmas stories, and the Grinch himself will even make an appearance," Teske added. The talented Eagle View Middle School choir directed by Wes Sparkes will perform again this year in the lobby.

Founded in 1956, the Chorale is the oldest, continuously performing community organization for vocal artists in the State of Colorado. The 120-voice Chorale and its outreach arm, The Chamber Singers of the Chorale, contribute to the cultural richness of the Pikes Peak Region while providing an artistically rewarding choral experience for talented vocalists.

Community outreach includes the Choral Scholars program which provides the opportunity for high school singers to participate in Chorale rehearsals and performances by recommendation of their teachers. Additionally, the Chorale recognizes outstanding educators among middle and high school choirs with its annual Award for Excellence in Choral Education. Finally, the yearly X-VOX Festival features the Chamber Singers of the Chorale along with the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale, and regional student choirs, and it gives smaller choirs the opportunity to perform choral masterworks with a large ensemble and orchestra.
