DCA & Civic Center Present GIRLS ONLY Running Through 5/10

Denver Center Attractions (DCA) is proud to be partnering with the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines to produce a second production of the hit comedy GIRLS ONLY - The Secret Comedy of Women. This production marks the first time a DCA cabaret production has opened in a second market. The comedy's Iowa debut will take place at the Civic Center's Temple Theater tonight as part of the Prairie Meadows Temple Theater Series. The show is scheduled to run through May 10, 2009.

GIRLS ONLY, written by Barbara Gehring and Linda Klein of Denver, Colo., is an original comedy that celebrates the honor, truth, humor and silliness of being female. With a two-woman cast and audiences full of raucous, laughing ladies, the show is a unique examination of all things girly. Born out of the earnest and sweetly absurd writings the two authors discovered in their girlhood diaries, the GIRLS ONLY mix of sketch comedy, improvisation, audience participation, and lively songs and videos reminds audiences of the very funny and very charming similarities all women share.

The Des Moines cast of GIRLS ONLY features Samantha Albert, Laura Jordan and Bethel Caram. The Denver cast of the show features Barbara Gehring, Linda Klein, Amie MacKenzie and Allison Watrous.

GIRLS ONLY is now playing in Des Moines at the Civic Center's Temple Theater through May 10.
