After Sara Fine's latest emergency room visit, she returns to her apartment to find that the light bulbs are burnt out; there's yet another leak in the roof; the fish are dead; the cat has gone AWOL; and her blind, elderly father is poised and waiting to browbeat her ride home, a friendly TSA agent named Tom. Some people have all the luck, but thanks to a 22-year-old curse, Sara's hasn't been so great lately. This World Premiere is a gleefully dark comedy about love, aging, airport security and how just one little win can put you back on top.
"We have a long-standing commitment to supporting and producing new works, and this Rolling World Premiere is an exciting opportunity to produce a regional playwright from the Rocky Mountains (Idaho)! We have a history of producing dark comedies, and this is a perfect fit for that genre. It's romantic but twisted, accessible but unpredictable," says Producing Artistic Director Chip Walton. And it challenges our company of designers in many new and exciting ways. I love plays that make me ask: 'How the h*ll do we do that?' And there are about four or five things in this play that beg that exact question. I also always look for plays that have great opportunities for our artistic company members, and this play is tailor made for both Dee Covington and Erik Sandvold."
