Comedy Works Downtown at Larimer Square has announced their upcoming shows for September and October 2009. Scheduled to appear are Finesse Mitchell, Chris Hardwick, John Heffron, and more. All shows will take place at 1226 15th Street, Denver, Colorado 80202.

Comedian, actor, author and Essence Magazine columnist Finesse Mitchell got his first big break when he was asked to be a featured player on the hit NBC sketch comedy Saturday Night Live, and eventually joined the cast in 2005. Long before that, Finesse was making an impact in the world of stand-up comedy with his hilarious takes on life and love garnering sold-out performances across the country. Since leaving the cast of SNL, Finesse has been making people laugh out loud with his witty sense of humor, showmanship and smooth Southern charm. He's been seen on the big screen in the movies Who's Your Caddy?, The Comebacks and Mad Money and as an expert on love and relationships on shows including The Today Show, TYRA, The Early Show, The Tom Joyner Morning Show and The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet. His comedic performances have been featured on NBC's Late Friday, The Late Show with Craig Kilborn, BET's Comic View and Comedy Central. Finesse is the 2008 recipient of the African-American Literary Award for Best Comedy Book, for his best-selling novel, Your Girlfriends Only Know So Much (Simon Spotlight 2007) a humorous guide on dating advice for women.

Chris has been featured on several major motion pictures such as Johnson Family Vacation, T3 and House of 1000 Corpses. In addition he has also hosted Wired Science, Attack of The Show, News Junkies, Shipmates, Singled Out, MTV's Beach House, Trashed, Stop Making Sense, Talk Soup, and Web Soup. Hardwick is also a stand-up comic and also performs with Mike Phirman in the music comedy duo Hard 'n Phirm. They have a half-hour comedy special Comedy Central Presents: Hard 'n Phirm. Both Chris's solo stand-up and duo act were featured on the comedy compilation CD Comedy Death-Ray (album). Hard 'n Phirm completed several songs for the Rob Zombie animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

You may know Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald as the star of Animal Planet's Emergency Vets, but there is much more to him than what has been seen on television. In addition to his duties as a full-time veterinarian, Dr Fitzgerald has also been performing stand-up comedy on an almost nightly basis since 1986. His rapid paced, one-liner style, combined with his ability to entertain without offending, have made him a highly requested act at clubs, colleges and corporate events throughout the country.

Looking for a place to try your chops at stand-up? Comedy Works is the place every Tuesday night. Every comedian that's out there making a living at making us all laugh started out on a night just like this. Perhaps you have heard of Roseanne Barr? She started her career on our stage at Open Mic Night! The show starts at 8pm. On any given Tuesday night you will see a plethora of new and professional talent working on their act. It's a great night out for the comedians and the audience itself. Due to the popularity, interested participants must sign-up in advance.
