CenterStage Theatre Company Emerging Artists Series is proud to present the regional premiere of "Triumph of Love," a delightfully witty musical based on the French eighteenth century Commedia dell'Arte play by Marivaux about philosophy, deception, and what happens when the messy world of love smashes into a world of idealism and rationality. Performances run July 25 through August 11at the Louisville Center for the Arts, 801 Grant Ave., Louisville 80027.

"Triumph of Love" is the musical spin on the tale of a princess's attempt to win the heart of a young philosophy student. Assuming various guises of both genders, the love-struck Princess Leonide sneaks into the garden retreat of rigid philosopher Hermocrates, his equally emotionless sister, Hesione, and their handsome nephew and student, Agis.

Accompanied by her bawdy maid, and assisted by the garden's hilarious servants, the princess must woo Agis without revealing her true identity as she discovers that he is the true prince of the land, raised by his aunt and uncle with the sole intent of dethroning and murdering her, the princess!

Melding a bright, farce-like style with a contemporary, irreverent wit, "Triumph of Love" is a charming chamber musical that surprisingly blends broad comedy with moments of real poignancy as the aging brother and sister and their nephew open their long-closed hearts to the dangers of love.

Centerstage's production will be performed in Louisville's most intimate venue, the Louisville Center for the Arts, and as part of its emerging artists series stars some of the best young adult actors in musical theater in the Denver/Boulder area including: Victoria Baird, Matthew Good, Michelle Herring, J. Tanner Kaler, Nathan Lawrence, Matt O'Connor, Eve Olson, Sierra Pilkington, Tanner Sands, Ellen Thompson, Sadie Trigg, and Christopher Turner.

Ticket prices: $12 Senior/Student, $14 Adult, $20 Reserved premium seating all ages. Call 720-320-6692 to order, or visit http://centerstagetheatrecompany.org.
