Coal Creek Community Theater (CCCT) will present their 4th Annual Front Range Playwrights' Showcase on Friday, August 20th at 7:00pm. The evening will include 4 staged readings of plays by local, Colorado playwrights and will be presented at the Louisville Center for the Arts (801 Grant Ave.). Each piece will be adjudicated by a panel of distinguished judges, and a winning play will be awarded at the end of the evening. Talk backs between the casts, playwrights, directors, audience and judges will also be featured. All tickets are $5 at the door.

Selected Plays:
Assisted Living by Jeffrey Neuman -- Denver
Bringer of Light by William C. Kovacsik -- Boulder
Power Play by Linda Berry -- Aurora
Strange Bedfellows by Carrie Printz -- Denver

Originally presented in 2007, The Front Range Playwrights' Showcase has become one of CCCT's most popular and enlightening events of the season. One-act and short play scripts are solicited each year from Colorado playwrights. Every script is read and reviewed by the CCCT Play Reading Committee, and 3-4 outstanding plays are chosen for the Showcase. The selected plays are then presented as staged readings and adjudicated by a panel of esteemed judges. After each play reading, the audience has a chance to engage in talk-backs with the playwrights, actors, directors and judges. Finally, the judges tally their scores and a winning play is chosen. The winner of the 1st Annual Front Range Playwrights' Showcase, The Organist's Daughter by William C. Kovacsik, won FIRST PLACE at the Colorado Community Theater Festival and competed at the American Association of Community Theatre's Regional Competition in 2009.

Coal Creek Community Theater is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization based in Louisville, CO. It is an all-volunteer company that is now in its 21st Season. CCCT is sponsored, in part, by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and the City of Louisville.
